Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has been urged to quickly to sack his Commissioner for Industry, Mines and Solid Minerals, Hon. Ernest Ibejiako, over allegations of Land grabbing and contempt of court before he drags his hard earned reputation into mud.
Speaking on behalf of concerned indigenes of Naze, Mr Iheanacho, exposed him for alleged land grabbing at Naze Industrial Layout with impunity and total disrespect to subsisting Court Judgement in Suit No: HOW/1/2015.
The leader of Concerned Naze indigenes disclosed how he allegedly invaded a parcel of land, plot 21A Naze Industrial Layout, belonging to Umuezue Village, Naze Autonomous Community with a suspicious motive to grab it in total disregard to a subsisting High Court judgement
with specified terms of settlement peacefully accepted by the plaintiffs and defendants as judgement of the court.
He also called on the governor to stop him from harrasing and intimidating the villagers with touts and uniform armed men in the name of taskforce,stating that what he is doing is capable to cause crisis, lost of life, breakdown of law and order.
He lamented that Ibejiako and Dr. Richard Amount of Industrial Dynamics Nig limited always fingered in land grabbing is using one Fulani boy as head of their taskforce team to intimidate them and have vowed to deal with the villagers.
He accused the commissioner of abuse of power and are demanded justice, protection of their rights, and urgent intervention from Governor Uzodinma to stop his alleged land grabbling moves in order to save the image of his administration from dirty and questionable moves of land grabbing.
Reminding the governor of the consequences of actions of Commissioner Ibejiako and why he should act before is too late, he made it clear that land grabbing have severe consequences, like social unrest, conflict, tensions, and violence between communities, government officials, and investors with forces of eonomic instability and environmental degradation.
He further disclosed how he is moving round the community to intimidate and harras villagers with taskforce financed by one Dr Richard Amonu, a man they viewed as an unrepentant land Grabber.
From their reports, he is conspiring with those who resort to Land grabbing after they exhausted the areas given to them to intimidate the entire community.
Speaking the mind of the people, Iheanacho called on Governor Uzodinma to remove the Commissioner because he doesn't know why he was appointed.
Adding his voice, Comrade Eze Kingsley, who questioned the perceived illegal activities of the commissioner, compelled Governor Uzodimma to sack him for abuse of power and contempt of court, stating that if he proceeds , with all the available evidences in their disposal,they will surely drag him to court and ensure he pays for his illegality.
Explaining the consequences of contempt of Court, he said it can lead to damage of reputation, loss of rights privileges, imprisonment and severe fine
He urged the governor to sack him without delay as his action is a wrong impression of his administration adding that he behaves in a way that shows disregard and abuse of temple of Justice.
Comrade Eze, made it clear that the sack of Hon. Ibejiakor, is the only way the Governor can convince the judiciary that he is not supporting the undermining the rule of law, the authority and integrity of the judiciary, and actions that erodes trust in the legal system.
He noted that contempt of court is a serious offense and the courts have the power to punish contemnors to maintain the dignity and authority of the court.
Others who spoke, totally condemned the manner he storms the village to intimidate them with taskforce headed by a Fulani boy Badamosi Idris and other heavily armed security men
He called on the governor to land heavily on Ibejiako to serve as a deterant to others who abuse their office with actions that pollute the mind of the people against Shared Prospeeity Administration.
Reports from the villagers further disclosed how Ibejiako is moving round the community to intimidate and harras them with taskforce financed by one Dr Richard Amonu, Owner of Industrial Dynamics Nig ltd, a man they alleged is an unrepentant land grabber.
From their reports, he has exhausted the portion of land given to him, but decided to intimidate the entire community with tauts in order to grab more land.
The villagers have on several occasions challenged the commissioner and his cohorts to produce documents showing when and how their land was acquired, instead of doing so he vowed to deal with anyone who dares to challenge his actions and has repeatedly told the villagers that this government h as little or no regard for court judgement.
In their general views, they maintained that Irrespective of the ugly behaviour of the commissioner for Industry,Mines and Solid Minerals, , they still believe in Senator Uzodinma and his Shared Prosperity Administration.
