In a bold move to enhance the security of Imo State, Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye, National President of Hope Rising for Imolites, has donated an ultra-modern office complex to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The impressive edifice, which was commissioned by the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, will serve as the Area Command office for the NSCDC in Ogbor Uvuru, Aboh Mbaise LGA.
Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye's decision to build and donate the NSCDC office was motivated by his concern for the security of Imo people. He became uncomfortable with the level of insecurity ravaging communities in the state and felt the urgent need to complement the good works of Governor Hope Uzodimma in fighting insecurity.
As a responsible citizen and a great son of Imo State, Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye reached out to the NSCDC to inquire if an ordinary citizen could assist in setting up a security unit. The Commandant General and the state commandant gave him a positive response, which spurred him into action.
Today, the ultra-modern NSCDC office is ready for commissioning and immediate use by the NSCDC. The office has been approved to serve not only the Ogbor community but also as the Area Command office for the 3 local governments of Aboh Mbaise, Ezinihitte Mbaise, and Ahiazu Mbaise.
Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye commended the NSCDC for their hard work and dedication to securing the state. He pledged to continue supporting their activities and requested that they apply the right discipline in the discharge of their duties. He also specially requested that Mbaise sons and daughters who applied for recruitment in the NSCDC and are qualified be considered in appreciation for his contribution.
The Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, represented by ACG Zone 13, Nnamdi Nwanneukwu, praised Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye for his selfless contribution to the security of Imo State. He assured him that the NSCDC would reciprocate his kindness by ensuring that his community remains crime-free and peaceful.
The Imo State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Basil Igwebueze, also commended Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye for his generosity. He noted that the security of life and properties is essentially the alpha point of governance.
In his remarks, the representative of the former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo, Mr. Vitus Ortese, commended Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye for his philanthropic efforts. He noted that people like Akagburuonye are the ones needed in Nigeria today to push communities forward, as government cannot do it alone.
Nollywood actors and actresses, including Patience Ozokwor, Bob Manuel Udokwu, and Emeka Rollas, who attended the commissioning ceremony, praised Chief Barr Obioma Success Akagburuonye for his philanthropic efforts. They prayed for God's continued blessings upon him and urged the NSCDC to make good use of the donated office complex.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by dignitaries from across the state, including the Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, who represented Governor Hope Uzodimma.
