The atmosphere in Imo State was charged on Friday 9th May, 2025 following the official Commissioning of City Boy Movement (CBM).
Mr. Seyi Tinubu who is the facilitator of the Movement was represented at the occasion by the Director General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosi Shoga as well as several other national leaders of the movement including Favour Abayomi who is the Chair National Exco, were eminently present during the unveiling of the state office located at Area New Owerri.
Speaking at the event, the Director General lauded the exceptional leadership of Hon. Goodluck Chidera Nwaneri who single-handedly built and donated the edifice to the movement.
While thanking the Imo People for their sense of hospitality, he described the state as a strong hold for the reelection bid of His Excellency, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, given the uncommon show of willingness and participation witnessed among the youths and people of Imo.
Speaking further, he narrated that the movement is the foremost youths platform for the President's reelection comprises of progressives youths from which both ministers, lawmakers, captains of industry, philanthropists and so on, have been produced.
He therefore encouraged them to continue to support President Ahmed Tinubu, just as he reiterated that Mr. President holds Imo people to a high esteem.
The Director General of City Boy Movement in Imo State and Founder of Goodluck Nwaneri Foundation, GNF, Hon. Ambassador Goodluck Chidera Nwaneri urged the people of the State to support the Administration of the President, describing him as the best the Country has ever produced.
The donor, Hon. Nwaneri, who is a Philanthropist expressed Confidence that City Boy Movement in Imo would soon be a household name in the State.
"Let me say it without fear or favour the President Ahmed Bola Tinubu is the only President that shown genuine passion for Nigerian youths. This is evident in his appointment of several youths in his government. Hear me today, Tinubu is one of the best Nigeria has ever produced."
"You have seen the strength of Imo youths in this movement. We will support the movement with all our strength, time, energy, money and most importantly, a rare show of love. That is why I am donating a brand new office for the movement to grow in the state.
"We are not going to do it alone, we will talk to our brothers in diaspora and I know they will be ready to contribute to the realization of the President's reelection bid come 2027," he said.
Recalling his numerous philanthropic activities, briefly both in the state and beyond, he included offsetting of huge hospital bills of patients, purchase jamb forms for over 2000 candidates, distribution of free fuel to over 4000 mini-bus operators in Imo state and many more.
He promised to do more for the people and thanked the Convener of City Boy Movement, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, the Director General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosi Shoga, the Imo state Commissioner for Youths Development and Talents Hunt, Hon. Dr. Emeka Mandele Ukaegbu, and all the National and state Leaders of City Boy Movement for the commitment and doggedness to the cause, pledging his unalloyed support.
Meanwhile, during the Imo Youths Stakeholders Security Summit earlier, the President and Founder of NGC received an 'Ambassador of Peace' award from a conglomerate of Imo youths organized by the Ministry of Youths Development and Talents Hunt during a security summit held at Rockview hotels same day.
