The Nigerian football icon Austine Jay Jay Okocha delivered a heartfelt reflection on his time at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where he shared the pitch with legends like Ronaldinho, Mikel Arteta, and Mauricio Pochettino.

Speaking pitchside during the electrifying Champions League semifinal second leg between PSG and Arsenal in Paris, Okocha opened up about the challenges that hindered the star-studded squad from reaching its full potential.

Jay Jay Okocha who  shared  iconic picture with Eto’o after lit night in Paris said; “We had a great team, but I think we came here when the team was not stable,” Okocha said in the video shared by TNT Sports, his voice tinged with nostalgia.


“We had a lot of changes, and that destabilised us. You want continuity, you want to feel at home. Somehow, we struggled a bit to adapt.”

Okocha, who dazzled fans at PSG from 1998 to 2002, highlighted how frequent upheavals disrupted the team’s cohesion, preventing them from achieving the success their talent promised.

Despite the struggles, Okocha expressed admiration for PSG’s current evolution under the guidance of Luis Enrique.


“It’s great to see the club getting it right,” he said, noting the club’s recent strides in European competition.

“A lot of superstars have passed through the club and not won anything, I am talking about the Champions League. But it is a great club, a massive club that deserves to have that experience.” Jay Jay Okocha said.
