How Egemba is championing a positive path between Imo State Government and Imo Dredgers

The recent familiarization meeting between Hon. Barr. Jerry Egemba, the Commissioner for Industry, Mines and Solid Minerals, and Imo dredgers has marked a significant turning point in the relationship between the state government and dredgers. The meeting, which was aimed at creating a new positive path for mutual understanding and advancement, has been hailed as a commendable move.

It was indeed a new era of cooperation, mutual understanding and progressiveness. Commissioner Egemba's approach to the meeting, which emphasized reconciliation, mutual understanding, and sanity, has been praised by dredgers. His commitment to listening to their concerns and addressing their challenges truly created a sense of hope and optimism.

In his usual  mannerism, he did not leave any stone unturned in addressing issues for positivity and productivity.

The dredgers in the meeting  expressed their grievances, citing instances where they were not carried along in decision-making processes, leading to court cases and disagreements. Commissioner Egemba's assurance that he will not go against the government's directives, but will rather work towards positive adjustment and advancement

The Industry commissioner emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation, urging dredgers to work together with the government to achieve shared goals. On the need for rule of law and sanity inline with the extant laws of the Land, Hon. Egemba, seized the opportunity to emphasized the importance of respecting the rule of law and the mining acts, warning that the government will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against those who flout the laws.

From the views of stakeholders, observers and analysts, they described the meeting as a mark of new beginning .

Looking at the reports of dredgers present at the meeting,it signaled a  marke of positive step forward in the relationship between the state government and dredgers. It is hoped that this new era of cooperation will lead to the growth and development of the dredging industry in Imo State.


Imo State Commissioner for Industry, Mines and Solid Minerals, reiterated Governor Hope Uzodimma's vision for the state, emphasizing the importance of making Imo State a better place for the indigenes. He urged dredgers to join forces with the government to achieve this goal.
