Eze Ekeh of Ubomiri and Senator Andy Uba"s inlaw, Chinyere Igwebe dare Judiciary

Highness, Eze George Ekeh, of Ubomiri Autonomous Community, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Senator Andy Uba's in-law in person of Chinyere Lilian Igwebe have dared the judiciary by proceeding with the exhumation of the body of late Donatus Ifeanyichukwu Amuchienwa, despite a stay of execution and a pending appeal on the matter and in total disrespect to the judicial process.

From avalable source, the son of Chinyere Igwebe,Nnanna Charles Amuchienwa, is married to the daughter of Senator Andy Uba from Uga in Anambra State.

A village source, who does not want his name mentioned, said the traditional ruler knew there was a stay of execution application, their Chinyere"s lawyer duly served and a pending appeal against the order Chinyere Lilian Igwebe obtained,  by deceiving the court. He neglected it and mobilized police support for her from Nworieubi Divisional Police Station to embark on the exhumation.

Credible sources said those who came to exhume the body of Late Donatus Ifeanyichukwu Amuchienwa had the full backing of the traditional ruler before they stepped into his community.

According to available reports from the DPO, it reveals that the traditional ruler called the DPO in the early hours of the day with a clear request for the provision of necessary police security for those coming for the exhumation, signaling his prior knowledge and endorsement of the action.

An eyewitness account at the premises of the deceased, in a video made available to newsmen, said, "When they came in for the exhumation, they were banging heavily on the gate with thunderous shouts and threats of 'open this, if you don't open this gate, if we finally jump in, we will break your head, butcher your body into pieces'." The source said.

With fear of such a serious threat, a who always come around  to clean the compound opened the gate, they entered, and began to search for the grave of late Donatus Ifeanyichukwu Amuchienwa with desperation, without waiting for the woman who opened the gate to show them the grave. When they finally saw it, they started digging with all amount of alacrity.

However, the attempt was foiled by Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, shortly after prominent Imo personalities reached out to him to draw his attention to a pending stay of execution and  appeal against the exhumation, the traditional and legal effects of carrying out such an exercise.

Observers are closely watching what would be the outcome or implications for the community's image, culture, and tradition. Many who condemned it said neglecting court processes can lead to serious consequences, like contempt of court charges, fines, or even imprisonment. It can also undermine the rule of law and create chaos.

Others were of the view that respecting court orders and processes is crucial for maintaining peace and justice, stating that when people disregard court processes, it can lead to more conflicts and instability.

Many fingered the  monarch in the conspiracy to exhume the deceased body in total disrespect to the pending stay of execution and pending appeal against the exhumation, saying that from the available information, Eze Ekeh is no longer pretending about his silent and mischievous involvement.

Insiders said he is allegedly doing all these to frustrate or force out Mrs. Ogechi Henrienta, the legally married wife of Late Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Donatus Amuchienwa, out of her husband's family house in the village and bring in Chinyere Lilian Igwebe for proximity and easy continuity of their alleged immorality.

From available information, the hearing on the matter will be on January 16, 2026. Efforts made to reach out to the monarch  24 hours before this publication proved abortive,he didn't pick his call and SMS sent to his phone line which reads, "Your Highness good evening, I sent you a voice note to reply on allegations exhumation of Dona Body/ allegations of affairs with Chinyere". Was not replied as at the time of filling this report
