Asaa Community Storms govt house, Police headquaters in solidarity march for Tiger Base

 

Asaa Autonomous Community in Imo State, Nigeria, has shown support for Tiger Base, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command, with a solidarity march and vote of confidence, stating that they are totally pleased with their works towards the protection of lives and property.

Speaking during the Solidarity March for Tiger Base, the President General of Asaa Autonomous Community, Comrade Evans Ekeruo,explained that Tiger Base has done a great job in fighting crime and protecting lives and property.

He said the unit, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa,  high in the fight against insecurity, stating with conviction that they have really gone extra mile to reduce insecurity in the state, this he said has yielded extra ordinary result.

His words; "we are here to demonstrate our solidarity support and pass vote of confidence on Tiger Base for their good works in the state".

The PG further expressed concern over allegations of human rights abuses against the unit, calling them "blackmail".

He maintained that Asaa Community and Coalition of Imo Youths will continue to support Tiger Base despite anctics and actions of  detractors.

Ekeruo said, "Those kicking against Tiger Base are the real kidnappers, they are the ones sabotaging efforts of the police and the state government, led Imo State Governor,Senator Hope Uzodimma towards a secured Imo.

The community hosts more than 10 international Organizations with many expatriates working at different levels in this Organizations, looking at what Tiger Base has done to drastically reduce insecurity in our area,they  feel more secure due to their productive efforts.

Recently; a woman was kidnapped in our community, we ran to Tiger Base they assured us of quick intervention and speedy release, they swung into action and she was released in few day, unhurt and without ransom".


Comrade Ekeruo who observed the volatile nature of their environment, further noted that continuous presence of Tiger Base has positively helped in reduction of insecurity.

The President General of Asaa Autonomous Community, recalled Tiger Base's role in protecting lives during the Unknown Gunmen era, stating that they did well in repelling attacks when hoodlums were setting police stations ablaze in the state.

Adding his voice, thet State chairman of Niger Delta Youths and Secretary General of Asaa Autonomous Community, Comrade, Ugorji Emmanuelh thanked Tiger Base for their contributions to peaceful and secured environment.

 His words, "we're here for solidarity support to Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who is the Chief Security Officer of the State and Tiger Base Unit, the Anti Kinapping Unit of Nigeria Police Force in Imo state, having work with them for a long time when I was president of Ohaji Youth and now Secretary General of Asaa, their contributions towards stability of peace are numerous too numerous to mention. if not for their contributions we don't know where we would have been by now when, may be insecurity and bad boys would have overrun us"

According to him after they have done much, Is totally wrong and unacceptable  for someone to wake up and start calling them names, we can't fold our hands in the face of mischievous allegations against them "

His views, Imo State just finished Investment Summit, here we are talking about investment in the state, it is a well known fact that if there is no security no investor will invest in the state.

In the contribution of the woman  Leader of Asaa, Mrs Violate Asor, she  commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for protecting lives and property and further  appreciated Tiger Base's quick response in rescuing a kidnapped woman.

She maintained that Asaa women will continue to support Tiger Base and urged them to shun discouragement,  remain focused and always productive in the discharge of their duties.

The Protesters sang solidarity songs in support of Tiger Base, with inscription on their placards, "No Tiger Base, no security of lives and property,

'ACP Ola deserves commendation, not condemnation. Asaa Community has over 10 international organizations operating peacefully due to efforts of Tiger Base.

They were received in Government House by the Chief Security Officer, Imo State Government House, who promised to communicate their message to the governor.

While at the premises of Imo state police headquarters, an Assistant Commissioner of police Administration, received them on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, the solidarity march ended with a letter of confidence vote handed to the CSO and ACP Administration as the community demands that Tiger Base remains, to ensure security in their area and Imo State at large.
