Ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities, international businessman and philanthropist, Citizen Akirika Okoro has urged motorists, pedestrians and all road users in Imo State to exercise caution, ensure they obey traffic rules and regulations, as well as being security conscious.
Citizen Akirika Okoro made the remark in a statement signed by his Media Office in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
According to the popular humanitarian and development-focused philanthropist, human life is very precious and has no duplicate, therefore should not be toyed with, in the name of celebrating Christmas and New Year, which comes once in a year.
In his words, the Owerri Nchi-ise born Political Operator, who recently shared out thousands of Free Exercise Books to Students in Primary Schools in Owerri said, *"we must show extra caution in protecting life, as it is irreplaceable. Once it is lost, it is gone. We must therefore display exceptional consciousness, professionalism, experience, capacity, and indeed, fear of God, so as to reduce incidents of road accidents and carnage during this festive season. We should not be carried away".*
While highlighting the importance of enforcing road traffic rules to facilitate seamless mobility that ensures safety of the populace, the pride of the people of Owerri Zone expressed optimism that the challenges associated with the growing population in the expanding cities of the State can be contained through holistic management of traffic rules and regulations. He noted the importance of appreciating these regulations for all road users, insisting that adherence will not only guarantee safety, but will also reduce high rate of road accidents.
While wishing the people of Owerri Nchi-ise, Owerri Municipal, Owerri Federal Constituency, Owerri Zone and the entire State a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance, the Hospitality Mogul explained that the period, which represents sacrifice, selfless service to God and humanity, should be used to reach out to the less privileged in the society.
*"Our existence gains value through positive influence on people and the world. Small acts of kindness, spiritual service, empowerments, etc, are important, because when life ends, our contributions can only echo on. Let us therefore focus on legacy building, rather than unnecessary material wealth acquisition, which makes no meaning. We will continue with Free Distribution of Exercise Books to Students in Secondary Schools in January 2026",* Citizen Akirika Okoro submitted.
Also, Citizen Akirika used the opportunity to commend the Imo State Government for the hosting of the 2025 Imo Economic Summit, which attracted Global leaders, including serving and former Heads of Governments. He stated that the outcome of the Summit has the potential to unmask, unlock and unleash tangible results if well harnessed.
