The suspension was made public through a letter signed by Public Relations Officer of the institution Mr Ike Anayo and made availble to the media in Owerri
The release reads "the attention of the management of Federal Polythenic Nekede has been drawn to a viral video in circulation which a student of the. Department of Arts, Design was assaulted, the management wishes to state that the person who assaulted the student is not a staff of Federal Polythenic Nekede but one of the facilitators that conducts practical at the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (TEDC).
After preliminary investigations and interface with appropriate authorities, the management of the Polythenic unequivocally condemned the unwholesome action and thereafter suspended the facilitator Mr Ifeanyichukwu Okoroafor from the institution till further notice"
The management of the institution states it's

Stating her determination not to sweep any abusive act under the carpet, she called on Lecturers, instructors, and facilitators to embody the noble roles of mentor, guide, and not to wield their influence as aggressors.
The Rector maintained that the authority entrusted to educators is a sacred charge, intended not for intimidation but for nurturing intellects, molding futures, and igniting inspiration.
Her words; ''e must resolutely reject any trace of impunity, overreach, or abuse of power if professionalism is to flourish. The immediate suspension of the facilitator, pending a thorough investigation, underscores an unequivocal truth: misconduct will find no harbor here. The institution is committed to pursuing justice with diligence and fortifying policies that preserve the dignity and welfare of every studen.
